A Creepy Hike

A very creepy hiking video was found on Liveleak.com as seen on Oct. 6 on The Stir where a man with a ski mask is video taping a female hiker which is alone.  It seems as though the man filming could have been a friend just playing a prank, but, the person which uploaded the video was tracked down and interrogated by police.  The beautiful mountain in which the video was taken was in Montara Mountain in Pacifica, California a trail that extends 7.5 miles out.  Can you imagine being alone on such a long hiking trail and having a scary situation such as this one of a man approach you when you are all alone and no one to hear your cry for help?

Even though this is only my second post, as a rookie hiker I know hiking by myself is out of the question.  Even down the road, when I have greater amount of experience, it is always safer to hike with a good group of people that maybe know the trails or can keep you good company during your hike.  You can never know what can happen out in the wilderness; you can be hurt and stuck out there for days without no one knowing, you can see bears and other wild animals that can place you in very life threatening circumstances, or very scary people can be hiding out in the woods with bad intentions, as seen in the video below.  Whatever the case maybe it is just always safer to go hiking with a least another hiker.

Take a look at my video posted, and as always, hike safely!

The Rookie Hiker

Hello fellow NJ residents and hiking fanatics!

This is my first post and I am glad to say that I am on the slow path to becoming an intermediate hiker and eventually a pro!  I am very excited this weekend I will be going for my first hike very close to our neighboring state Pennsylvania.  I will be accompanied by a group of people which often get together and do different activities such as this weekends hiking trip.  I will be filming my experience and posting it on my YouTube channel.  So, you will be seeing me live for the first time.  I am preparing to go into the wilderness with just my iPhone, my NorthFace sweater, some granola bars and water.  Please wish me luck, as I have a wedding the next day and this is expected to be a 6 mile hike and I could very possibly end up with some blisters.  I have yet to purchase proper equipment, being a rookie and all :).  Well, having said that, please stay tuned and hope you'll read my following posts and videos!
